Lessons Learned

We've got a week and a half in the bag, and so I thought I'd put together a little random sprinkling of...

What I've Learned About Babies (brought to you by Emerson Dawes Smith, God, and the Letter B):

  • Babies sleep more than Boston Terriers. I know, this may seem impossible, but it's true.
  • Boston Terriers sleep WAY more than babies do at night.
  • Somehow it seems like the quantity of what accumulates in the diapers exceeds the amount of food going in the mouth. How this works, I don't know.
  • Babies double as a very lifelike bobble head doll, neat.
  • Sleeping very little = easy. Sleeping more hours with low quality sleep = very very hard.
  • I wish I could be completely entertained by staring at the blinds, or the couch, or the wall for long periods of time.
  • Quantity of dirty laundry in house = 1.0(#adult males) + 1.5(#adult women) + 8.7(# babies)
  • I used to think that those "baby wipe warmers" were a bit of a sham. After seeing Emerson's reaction when I apply the cold ones to her butt, I now think otherwise.
  • I now have a much better perspective and appreciation for what my mom went through (thanks, Mom)

Work and school get back in full swing in a few days. Yikes, here we go!
