I find myself borderline depressed this morning. I can't even bring myself to turn on sports talk radio for fear of hearing any of the following words: Cubs, Dodgers, walks, home runs, Manny, 100 years, goats, Dick Stockton's "hair", etc. I'm pretty sure I can't take it emotionally if they blow it tonight, I might have to form a bonfire in our backyard, offer all of my Cubs gear to the flames, and pledge my allegiance to the Yankees, Red Sox, heck, even the Mariners or Nationals. My old TV remote, heavily damaged after the last out of game 7 in the 2003 NLCS, is eyeing me uneasily from its place on the shelf of the coffee table.
I'm not on the ledge, but I'm casting a cursory glance its way.

Hang in there, guys. And leave that remote control alone. It WILL be okay...even tho it doesn't feel like it!
You do realize the football season has started right?
