Stuff Happened

Time is short, and we haven't been updating here in a few weeks, so I'll let our cute little friends, the bullet points, help get you up to speed. Pictures? Well, given I haven't uploaded any from our camera I'll have to substitute with some alternatives. Brace yourselves:

* We watched the "Team of Whom We Shall not Speak" lose to the Dodgers a few weeks ago in an embarrassing fashion and take Jeff's figurative heart, tear it out of his chest, drop it on the floor, stomp on it repeatedly, and then urinate all over it while laughing maniacally.

* Two weekends back, our longstanding friend, Jim Hulslander had his birthday party. Jim is now the ripe old age of 30, and we got the pleasure of celebrating him long into the night while sitting around a fire, enjoying fine Cuban cigars, eating icecream, and sipping on a tasty beverage or four. It was a wonderful time, our congrats go out to Jim on three great decades in the books.

* Last weekend we got to help our friends Greg and Kathy pack up their worldly possessions into a POD moving crate, in preparation for their journey to Austin in a few days. I kid you not, if there is enough room left in that POD to fit even a stick of gum I would be shocked. Imagine trying to fit eight NFL linemen into a Mini Cooper and now you've got a sense of the challenge we had to overcome. Kathy & Greg, safe travels and blessings to you both in your new adventure!

* Last night we spent a lovely evening with Allison's parents, the Kochs, who were kind enough to take us out for an early anniversary celebration. Steak and Long Island Ice Teas, does it get any better?

* It does get better, actually, as Jeff went out later that evening with longstanding good guy Mike Riddle, to enjoy good conversation, fermented beverages, and baseball at Emmitts Pub. Wait, baseball is still going on? Who knew?

* Lastly, for those still awake...Jeff will be going to a nerdy Venture Capital / Private Equity conference tonight at the Metropolitan Club in the Sears Tower but then, starting around 7:30, will be meeting up with his lovely bride of seven years to paint the town red. Dinner, drinks, pretending like we are twenty two again, the whole nine yards.

* Oh wait, just kidding, there's more: tomorrow we get up bright and early to carpool with some other Kellogg folks in Palatine and head to the NU game vs. The Purdue "What the f0rk does 'boiler up' really mean?" Boilermakers. A good time is expected by all.

That's as quick of a run down as I can give you. Here's a cool picture of a smiling moose for those of you who weren't intrigued with our update:

Al, I just saw that we made news on your blog! I love it - "not a pack of gum could fit." So true. I just posted the results on my blog and THANK YOU again for sharing your organizational gift with us that day. We couldn't have done it without you! Missing you Palatine neighbors!
