BIG in 2008 “Day 9”: Walking Through the Streets of Vienna with Jeff

So, last spring, Jeff and were in Europe, and decided to catch a day in Vienna. We had heard from so many people how magical the city was, and thought it to be on the “must see” list. Well, I am here to tell you that even with the heightened expectations, Vienna did not disappoint. - Go. There.

While we enjoyed ourselves for the entire 28 hours we were there, the hours we spent first exploring the city are among my favorite moments of travel, and of 2008. It was rainy and overcast on our train ride in from Prague, and after finding our hotel and taking a much needed nap, we decided to venture out to explore. During that time we:

- Encountered a freak snow storm
- Had coffee in an old fashioned Viennese café,
- Admired the gorgeous architecture and evening lights of Vienna while looking for our chosen restaurant …
- … which we never ended up finding because the streets are so crazy
- Ended up having a wonderful conversation at a random Italian restaurant that served some of the best Gnocchi that I have ever tasted (and I have tasted a lot of gnocchi).
- Read books and had more coffee at an old time cafe where Mozart & Beethoven and other old inspirational guys hung out
- And walked around the city more…
I would show you our photos, but we forgot our camera that night… and truth be told, is probably some of the reason I was able to just enjoy, without the stress of needing to capture everything…

it was a good night. :)
